Independent additive manufacturing expertise. Built around your business.

Quality & supplier qualification

A supply chain you can trust.

Connect additive manufacturing requirements to supplier readiness. Prepare the evidence and capability needed for independent qualification and certification.

For OEMs

A capable supplier.
A well-understood risk.

For demanding equipment, access to a printing process is not enough. You need to understand how supplier capabilities, quality systems and evidence relate to the parts you intend to use.

For additive manufacturing suppliers

Turn requirements
into practical readiness.

We support pre-assessment, gap closure, documentation and competence development so your organization can prepare for the relevant independent audit.

Additive Center + ASTM International

Different roles.
A connected route.

Additive Center / Maturity partner

Prepare the organization.

Practical pre-assessment, consultancy, supplier-team training and readiness support aligned with the relevant AMQ requirements. We help translate requirements into workable processes and quality documentation.

ASTM International / Independent role

Audit and certify.

ASTM International provides the independent auditing and certification role, separate from Additive Center’s preparation support. Certification decisions belong to the certification body—not to Additive Center.

The preparation journey

Close the gaps. Build the capability.

01

Assess the starting point

Review current operations against the agreed certification or qualification scope.

02

Align the quality system

Identify gaps in process controls, documentation and supporting evidence.

03

Develop the team

Use coaching, training and structured learning to make the approach repeatable.

04

Review readiness

Agree remaining actions and prepare for the relevant independent audit.

Important distinctions.

What technical evidence should we request from a supplier?

Start with the component’s critical requirements, then agree material traceability, manufacturing and post-processing records, dimensional inspection and any relevant test results. The depth of evidence should reflect the application and consequences of failure, rather than a generic document checklist.

When does a manufacturing change need renewed qualification?

A change in material, equipment, parameters, orientation, heat treatment, finishing or supplier may affect the qualified result. Define the review and requalification triggers in the agreed control plan. Not every change needs the same response, but the decision and supporting rationale should be documented.

Does supplier certification qualify every part?

No. A supplier’s quality system, a qualified production process and an application-specific part release are different scopes. The evidence needed depends on the intended application and customer requirements.

Does Additive Center issue the certification?

No. We support maturity and preparation. Independent auditing and certification are performed by the relevant certification body.

Which standard applies?

Our preparation approach references ASTM AMQ and ISO/ASTM 52920. The applicable requirements, scope and program arrangements are established for the specific engagement.

Is successful certification guaranteed?

Readiness support does not replace an independent audit or guarantee its outcome. The agreed scope and responsibilities are established before work starts.
